As an active clinical dentist using X-rays for over 40+ yrs. and after personally handling radioactive isotopes in my research for years at U.C. Berkeley, I've had my bodily share of radiation... plus a lifetime of jet travel over 30,000+ ft. I would like to now share some truly incredible research that could greatly benefit those at risk of radiation exposure - medical and dental personnel, medical patients undergoing radiation, Xrays and CT scans, pilots and crew, frequent flyers, nuclear power plant operators, those in the path of potential radioactive fallout, etc. Actually, everyone could benefit as radiation is everywhere, including radon gas.
Researchers around the world have screened several hundreds of chemical & biological compounds for use as radiation countermeasure agents, including the Armed Forces Radiobiology Research Institute (AFRRI) in Bethesda, MD. After years of extensive research, AFRRI revealed to the world that two new isomers of Vitamin E, Delta- and Gamma- Tocotrienols, were among the most effective radio-protective agents and both were awarded U.S. and World I.P. Patents.. "for protecting the body from radiation-induced injury and radiation-induced mortality".. AFRRI has published a dozen papers on Tocotrienols and Radiation. Two notable patents:
When Dr. T. attended U.C. Berkeley (1960-1971), his first graduate professor was Dr. Herbert M. Evans, co-discoverer of Vitamin E. He died in 1971 and Dr. T. was one of his last students. Since then, these new isomers of vitamin E – Delta & Gamma Tocotrienols - have been extensively researched and proven to be very safe, effective radio-protective agents - completely natural, plant-derived, non-toxic, bio-compatible, rapidly absorbed & distributed, and not expensive.
Dr. T. now distributes his own flagship brand of DeltaPOWER™ which contains 90% Delta- and 10% Gamma- Tocotrienols. It is manufactured in the U.S.A. using a patent-protected process. Our DeltaPOWER™ is always protected, stored, and shipped refrigerated. Tocotrienols suffer oxidation when exposed to heat, light, air (oxygen), metal ions (oxidizing agents), and extremes in pH (too acid or too basic). Take care of them, they will certainly take care of you!!!
Tocotrienols have now been shown to have many other biological properties that provide protective benefits: Learn More
The “older”Vitamin E (Alpha-Tocopherol) interferes with the uptake and function of the “newer” Vitamin E Tocotrienols, so high tocopherol-rich foods or supplements with high tocopherols are recommended to be taken separately. Also, avoid taking with high fiber foods, as fiber will bind fats and fat-solubles and you will not get much absorbed and excrete much away. Avoid taking with metal ions, e.g. Iron, Copper, and Zinc, as they are strong oxidizing agents. Suggest avoid eating in excess high mineral-rich foods by at least 2 hrs. For enhanced results, suggest that fat-soluble nutrients be taken with some healthy oil, e.g. olive oil, fish oil, flaxseed oil or seeds, avocado oil, coconut oil, etc. For enhanced absorption and distribution, suggest taking with an emulsifying agent, e.g. lecithin, from sunflower if possible, as soy is usually GMO. Another general suggestion is to take your water soluble vitamins in the morning and your fat-soluble nutrients, e.g. Vitamins A, D3, E-Tocotrienols, K2, CoQ10, at or after dinner, again depending upon what was consumed...
